This morning I did a recce of
the Kilkenny Lane Country Park, the venue of Sunday's Oxfordshire XC League.
This web page has some photos of the Park. Click on a photo if you wish to see a hi-res version.
The lettered points mentioned below are those on the course maps.
Although I didn't walk all the way round, I didn't see any mud and there aren't any hills. There were a few small icy puddles.
I maybe wrong but it looks to me as if the routes will mostly use the paths in the Park which are hard-core.
In most places, there is a grass alongside the path and I guess in crowded places runners will also be using the grass.
However some parts (e.g., between the Start and A, between A and B and between G and R) are along grass.
I guess you'll need to check on the day what shoes to wear.
Important: These are my views based on what I saw. I'm not involved with organising the event.
There were a lot of people walking dogs! I guess they won't be pleased to see us on Sunday! The horses were tame!
